Hands down, Paris is one of my favorite cities in the world. This might have to do with the fact that most of the food you eat is amazing. Or maybe because I studied French for seven years and I feel like I should somehow fit in (a smear of red lipstick and a scarf does not a Parisian make.) Or even because its jammed packed with so much history but still remains a modern city. Or because theres a soft yellow light the the whole city seems to cast and every building is its own shade of cream. Its one of those cities that I would go back to every weekend if possible. One that I can’t get enough of and never am ready to return home.
Since Paris is one of the few places in Europe that I have already visited, it was nice to step off the tourist track and explore more of the quieter areas of the city. The random streets are always where you find the little gems. A cute little bar where locals are having their evening aperitif. Automobiles and bikes of all sorts. Street art. Best of all, the gorgeous pastry shops that appear on every other street. These are inspiration for me to dig out my baking tins and start experimenting.
I just love this city and walk around with a smile on my face the whole time. I’m sure we’ll be back multiple times before we leave Europe!
